Grateful To Hear Again!
Dr. Bob Peters recently performed a bilateral cochlear implant procedure on a man who lost his hearing as an adult. The man is an East Texas resident who volunteers his time for missionary work in Ghana. Being able to hear again will truly change his life and his ability to help more people.
In his own words, excerpts from an email to Dr. Peters from Johnny Widener, "I just wanted to share with you that I am amazed at what I am hearing on Day four. Over the weekend I was able to hear conversation and my pastor preaching in church with understanding. I was not hearing sounds at a distance very clearly, only noise. But after the adjustment today, what a big difference. After I left your office I could hear the kids playing in the atrium, and it sounded like kids. I could hear the cars outside instead of just noise. I heard a fire truck siren when I went to see Linda Daniels. She asked me to turn my back to her and I was able to repeat every question she asked me verbatim. We tried the phone and I was able to repeat a couple of sentences she said. It was a little more difficult on the phone but that is progress. My wife and I got home this evening and I am able to hear all my kids talk again! We have enjoyed just sitting down and talking without difficulty. When the dog came into the room I could hear the dog tag rattling on the collar. Over the weekend I could not understand conversation far across the room, but now I can. I hear and understand my kids talking across the living room. Thanks so much to all of you for what you do! What a difference you have made in my life and ministry. And I know this is just the beginning." WATCH STORY HERE!

FDA Approval of a Lower BMI
NBC channel 5 will be doing a live feed today from 5pm and 6pm with Dr. Nick Nicholson.
