Dr. Maryann Prewitt of Healthcare for Women, P.A. is a Board Certified Fellow, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). Among the first to be credentialed by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), she is an expert in minimally invasive gynecological procedures, FDA-approved Bioidentical Hormones and Hormone Replacement Therapy as well as innovative nutrition and fitness. A proud graduate of The University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Prewitt has practiced Gynecology in the North Dallas/Plano area since 1996 following a prestigious fellowship at Barnes Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After earning her B.S. degree in Chemistry, graduating cum laude from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, she served both her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University Medical Center, Barnes Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri. During her tenure, she received a faculty appointment at St. Louis University where she was awarded “Teaching Resident of the Year” for three consecutive years.

Dr. Prewitt consistently brings her passion for education to her medical practice. Further, Dr. Prewitt was awarded the coveted “Felix Rutledge Fellowship” in Gynecological Oncology at The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston heading the Laparoscopic, Hysteroscopy Surgery Division and High-Risk Obstetrics Division. In addition to the professional organizations mentioned above, the highly credentialed Dr. Prewitt is currently affiliated with the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society of Clinical Colposcopy, and the Urogynecologic Society.
